New James Bond Search Intensifies as Shortlist Drops Below 20 Actors

Denis Villeneuve, who is set to direct the next James Bond film, has reportedly started reaching out to actors from the first round of auditions and inviting them to a second stage in August.

The casting process began earlier this spring, and sources say the shortlist has now been reduced to fewer than 20 candidates.

While no official list has been released, names like Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner, and Jacob Elordi have been mentioned as fitting the producers’ vision for the role  It’s still unclear whether they have officially auditioned or are simply being considered at this stage.

Amazon is expected to reveal the new James Bond by the end of the year , with filming planned to start in 2027  This will mark the first 007 film under Amazon’s control, with Steven Knight writing the screenplay.
